“The best action to limit the risk of COVID 19 infection by air is to ventilate indoor environments with outdoor air as much as possible.”
—ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air
Conditioning Engineers)
“Another strategy from an exposure control perspective could be the use of personalized ventilation systems that supply 100% outdoor air, highly filtered, or UV disinfected air, (i.e., the ventilation provision per person) directly to the occupant breathing zone.”
— ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air
Conditioning Engineers)

Did you know that fresh air improves the performance of students and also their immune systems?

Did you know that diners feel more comfortable eating hot and spicy food in a cool space?

Did you know that overcrowded
spaces can be cooled by increasing the rate of air change?

Did you know that happy and
comfortable chefs cook the best
food?

Did you know that customers
spend more in a comfortable
environment?

Did you know that people feel
better working out in a fresh
environment?
Air washers/Air coolers
- 100% fresh air (rich IAQ)
- Low energy consumption
- “Make do” cooling in summers
- Inadequate cooling in monsoon
- High moisture addition
- Little or no filtration
- Low capital expenditure (project)
- Low maintenance
- Environment friendly
What can fill the Gap?
A solution that retains the benefits of both solutions and eliminates the limitations.

Air conditioners
- 15% fresh air at max (poor IAQ)
- Exorbitant energy consumption
- Adequate cooling in summers
- Adequate cooling in monsoon
- Dehumidified air
- Customized filtration
- High capital expenditure (project)
- High maintenance
- Not environment friendly

The Technology Inside
Direct evaporative cooling (DEC)

Indirect evaporative cooling (IEC)

Primary (supply) air moving through hydrophobic surface
Secondary moisture-laden (exhaust) air moving through
hydrophobic surface

With indirect evaporative cooling, a secondary (ambient) air stream is cooled by water. The cooled secondary air goes through a heat exchanger, where it cools the primary (also ambient) air stream flowing in separate alternate channels as the secondary air.
Since there is no contact of supply (primary) air and exhaust (secondary) air, no moisture is passed on through the heat exchanger to the space.

Type Tested in internal laboratory built as per ASHRAE standards.

LEED prerequisites and credits are categorized under 9 different categories. The broad categories (each category has multiple
subsets) and maximum points a building can score is enumerated below:
Credits | Max points to score |
---|---|
Integrative process | 1 |
Location and transportation | 32 |
Sustainable sites | 10 |
Water efficiency | 11 |
Energy and atmosphere (EA) | 33 |
Materials and resources | 13 |
Indoor environmental quality (IEQ) | 16 |
Innovation | 6 |
Regional priority | 4 |
Basic certification | 40 - 49 points |
---|---|
Silver | 50 - 59 points |
Gold | 60 - 79 points |
Platinum | 80+ points |
HVAC systems are covered under Energy and atmosphere (EA) and Indoor environment quality (IAQ) which together contribute a total of 49 points.
